I had my 25 week appointment yesterday which involved taking the glucose test...the drink was not so bad, but it didn't really make me feel all that great afterwards. I couldn't remember the directions...whether or not I could eat or drink anything else...so I didn't. That may have had something to do with it. I passed the test so no gestational diabetes...in other words I can still eat what I want. I gained a little more weight that I would have liked..I think around 8 lbs, but I remember the second trimester with Colt, I gained more than the first and the last. AND I was super swollen yesterday so I'm going to blame that on water retention also. I'm not sure what to do about this swelling I've had. I try to drink a lot of water and watch my salt intake but it doesn't help that much...or maybe it does...I would hate to see my "kankles" if I didn't! I beleive it has a lot to do with sitting ALL DAY long besides when I get home and by then it's really too late. On the weekends my ankles go back to normal so it's GOT to be the sitting! The appointment was once again uneventful as before...which is GREAT!
How I've been feeling...FAT and HOT. This pregnancy hasn't been as pleasurable as the last but I think that's mainly because it's been about 100 degrees outside everyday for the past couple of weeks and I'm a lot bigger than last time. I shouldn't complain about either of the two because I physically feel great and I've had no complications (cross my fingers). I get more and more excited about getting close to our little girl's arrival.
Josh and I are still very excited about having a girl and talk about what it's going to be like with two! I took Colt to the mall with me a couple of weeks ago and I stepped into Children's Place. Love that store! Anyway, I started out looking at the toddler boys clothes, then stepped over a few feet to look at the girl clothes. OMG! It was SO overwhelming...just being in a little store and trying to decide if I should be looking at the boy stuff or the girl stuff was making my head spin. I'm sure you get used to situations like this, but this is a very small situation that had me rattled. Luckily I had Colt helping me out...he can always calm me down...he just said...this one Mommy (not really out loud but I knew what he was saying.)
I didn't actually purchase anything, but thinking about it now, I should have gotten that little dress that her big brother picked out. He does have good taste, BUT I also have great self control! For now anyway:)
Colt doesn't really talk about the baby. Maybe we should a little more often to him. He will say "baby" after I ask him what is in my belly. But he says "no" after I ask him if he wants a little sister. TOO BAD!!
