Getaway Trip to HOTlanta!

Josh and I made a getaway trip without the kiddos...thanks to Nana and Pops!!  Josh wanted to get away after Football season that led right into Basketball season...from August to February is always jam packed.  And our decision to go was very last minute too, we actually decided the Thursday we left.  Sometimes it's hard making a decision, but I'm glad we did.  We had so much fun and going to Atlanta was a perfect idea.

We got there pretty late, checked into the awesome Hotel "Lowe" Josh hooked us up with and went to dinner at a place called Einsteins and it was yummy-ohly!  There were definitely some interesting people there, but we sat outside, the weather was perfect and was nice just people watching.

The next morning, we slept in a little, but Josh and I kept on hearing people...it was almost like a dream, but it continued and continued and continued...it was strange.  We finally made it outside to get some breakfast and this is what we walked out to:

It's basically THE largest 10k run in the WORLD...I'm sure most have heard of it...The Peachtree Road Race...yes, we were right in the middle of it.  Total participants are right at 60,000.  It was entertaining, we stood there and watched for a while...once again interesting people:)

After we walked around a little, we had brunch at Cafe Intermezzo...Delish!

After breakfast, we took drove to Lenox Mall and Perimter Mall and found out there was going to be a huge firework show later at Perimeter Mall.  Later that day we decided to take the Marta and not worry about parking, and headed to see fireworks.  It was probably the best firework show I've ever seen.  The tons of people were there.

Saturday, we woke up super late, got ready and headed out.  We ended up going to Centennial Park to go to the Georgia Aquarium and the Coca Cola Museum.  Um no!  Once we finally go there the lines were crazy long...I think they said the wait was 3 hours!  Who would do that?!  So we started walking and walking and walking.  We knew there was a Braves home game that day and we were trying to get there, but we didn't realize how far we actually had to walk...when we could have taken the transit bus...FINALLY we walked up on this!  Whew!  We were back and forth about actually going in, but after all that...we definitely were going!  And I'm so glad we did!

 I just had to!
We stayed for the entire game...surprised ourselves:)  It was a great game...Braves won...I've forgotten how much fun baseball is watching.  When we got back, we went to a restaurant called "Shout."  It was a great atmosphere and good!  It was such a fun weekend!  Wish we could go back:)
