Beach Vacation Summer 2017

Picture OVERLOAD!  But this vacation was SO fun!  We filled it with LOTS of friends and memories:)  This was the only week that Josh could come before summer workouts/football started so here we are vacationing early in the year and it's also Memorial Day weekend so that's an extra day I DON'T have to take as vacation:)  Always so thankful to have a place to go to!  Day 1...

Even though Nana and Pops have a pool now, the kids LOVE going to the pool, they beg to go but all I want to do is go to the beach!
We get to the beach finally...it's so pretty! And we meet up with a CrossFit couple that are down at their place for the weekend...the Steinbergers.  We've (I've) become good friends with Heather...she's my CF/joking buddy!  We had fun and we ended up going to dinner with them....thanks to Nana and Pops for watching the kids.  YAY!  We went to a sushi place down the street that was YUM!

Next day, we met up with the Swanner's and the Brannon's to go to Shell Island for the day...I love it there!  I felt a little guilty leaving Nana and Pops and taking all the kids, but they need a day too.  This time Charlie was on board.  He's such an easy kiddo, I wasn't worried about him one bit.

He loved riding the big boat!  Look at those pretty curls:)
 Anchoring down the boat...
 So so happy!

So this time at Shell Island there were tons of sand dollars (like last time), kids found some star fish AND a lot of sea urchins....ouch!  I didn't step on one because I left my shoes on but I saw the guys step on some.  Eeew

Eddie and Marilyn were there too!

This little guy fell asleep FAST when I made a comfy spot for him and he slept a long time!

Sooo about sleeping a long time, we stayed a long time...too long...so long that the tide went out...and out far.  The boat was on bottom.  At first we were all on the boat ready to go until we realized how bad we were on bottom.  So off we go to make the boat lighter.  Several guys from other boats helped, after about 45 minutes of pushing, the guys stepping on urchins, yelling, maneuvering, the boat was free!  Whew.  Once the boat was free, surrounding boats starting cheering for us...haha...I had no idea EVERYONE was watching!  It was a memory that's for sure.  We eventually got back on the boat...after we were chest deep in water and Lance was sure the boat wasn't going to hit the bottom again...he finally let us back on...while I'm still holding Charlie.

 Not working...
Finally back and feeling good.  This is Charlie at 18 months!  So so precious!
Up next...the Fain's came down for the day.  This day the water was rough and it was very very windy.  We had fun, but the kids were getting swept away pretty fast.  It was a little nerve racking.

Being Memorial Day weekend, Rebecca was down visiting a friend and came to hang out with us for a little bit.  Mary Calla was struggling because she was so tired so they didn't stay long.

Michelle didn't want to go back home quite yet, so they came down from PC for a bit too.  This is Harrison, Colt, Addie, MK, JP and Lizzy.
 The Fain's, us and Michelle

Next day Deborah came to stay!  We try to get them to come while we are down every year!  I hate to say it when they got there I was kinda tired but Deborah is such a good friend, she doesn't care what we do!

There she is!  Sweet Charlie...he's just so easy!  Please stay this way.

Not everything goes your way...and she's exhausted

Us girls got out for a little shopping...we don't get to much, and this is one of our favorite places.

Pops had taken the boys down to the beach while Charlie stayed with Nana in the condo.

It was a little cool because of the rain, but we made it to Destin Commons to enjoy the splash pad.

Charlie was not really into it.

On our way out, we had to go see the Chavers and William.  Sweet baby!

This was one of the best vacations!
