First Halloween

Man, what a big day! First of all, the day started out great, Colt finally slept until his old "normal time" and woke up at 6:40...yay...then ate and played with me for an hour then was down for a nap until 9:45. That was the easy on to the fun stuff...

All the moms decided that it would be a great idea to get all the babies together in their Halloween costumes at D's house and have a photo op. We couldn't think of a better way for all the babies to share their first Halloween with their best friends. Attending, get ready for this...Luke (10 mo's), Canon (71/2 mo's), Ava (61/2 mo's), Colt (51/2 mo's), Jack (3 mo's) and Julia (2 mo's)....can you imagine? I, silly me, pictured all the babies....Luke standing, Canon, Colt & Ava sitting, Jack & Julia laying and all smiling...yes, all smiling at once. Four words for everyone...WHAT WAS I THINKING? I do have to say, it was so much fun having them all together and trying to 'make this happen.' All the mom's besides me and mostly Mandy were taking pictures like crazy...Mandy was tending to Luke...who wasn't cooperating with his monkey cap and I was on the ground making crazy noises to get their attention holding a mirror so at least one baby would get fixated on themselves. Here are some pictures I got until I decided that I would rather make a fool out of myself and get the babies attention.

This was just too funny to pass up....

After the photo op, D has this machine called a Cricket that cuts out letters, designs, objects, etc from card stock. It can do all sorts of things depending on the software you buy. D had bought several frames for everyone so we could turn the frames into a Halloween theme and use the pics we took. This took a lot of creativity, but after some brainstorming we dove right in. Every one's frame looked so good after...oh...lets see...4 hours!! Luckily all the daddy's were in charge of the we could concentrate on our very important project.

Finished product: (ours is on the bottom right)

We were all worn out by this point (well, I was anyway) and it was only 4 o'clock. We hung out at D's for the rest of the night. Josh and Ed headed up to the Troy was a little too much for them:). We had a great time and a great first Halloween. Here are a couple more pics I got:

Only adults to dress up...

Colt crashed as soon as we got home:(

Throwin in the towel...

Northview had their last game Thursday seemed like a long season and short season all in one. Long b/c we didn't have the best season and short b/c there are only 10 games and time just flies by these days. Maybe we'll have a good season next year. Don't get me wrong, every game that we went to was lots of fun...mainly b/c I got to show off how cool Colt is and secondly, I always had friends there to chat with. I really could have done without the irate fans...but at least their there right? Anywho, I decided to show how tired we all were when we finally get home around 10ish. Colt usually stays awake the whole time, he just can't miss anything then crashes in the car. Here is a pic of him when we got home Thursday night. His onsie is Northview colors and has "Colton" monogrammed on it (done by Elyse).

I love this man!

Sitting up

It's hard to determine when they start sitting up, so I guess we're there. Colt is now sitting up...he's not the sturdiest but he can stay for several minutes. I know I have probably posted some of these already...but I gotta have proof right?

Troy Homecoming

We ventured off to Troy's homecoming this past Saturday. We usually go to the Troy home games, but since my friends Hope and Stephanie were there we dicussed how much things have changed since we were in school...which was only 6 years ago....ONLY~! Anywho, so many more people attend game and tailgate...much more than before. I guess it's because Troy is now a D-1 school...or maybe it's because I just didn't pay too much attention when I was in college. Oh well, we had a good time anyway. We got there about an hour and a half before the game, but if it were up to me we would have been there 3 hours before the game...Josh isn't much into walking around to see if we know anyone, but I am:) I got to see several people from my was fun, but not enough time to catch up. Hope, Stephanie and I finally got around to checking out the "college section" of tailgating to see if saw someone we knew. We got to the AGD tent and NO ONE was there...we did show up about 20 minuted prior to kick-off, but there were several tents full of people socializing. Oh well:( At least we got to see each other and we got this awesome picture:

I hope you are jealous...all you AGD know who you are...Robyn, Shelley, Amy...

We had a great time! Troy won (big time), Colt was good and the weather was great (ok, it could have been a little warmer). Here are some more pictures of the game:

It's starting to get chilly...

So we got a cap for Colt. I put it on him in the jumperoo and it was too funny to pass up on a video...

See my new teeth!

Colt is getting tooth #2! It's really hard getting a pic, but this is the best one I could get.

Click on the picture to get a closer look!

When I initially asked him to show me his teeth, I got this....then I told him to be a little more subtle:

We like carrots!!

We did not plan this...

Apparently the Moss's and the Parrish's woke up this morning feeling pretty good about their offspring...check out what Canon and Colt sported to MMO this morning...

And just like the heading states...this was not planned. I took the boys to MMO this morning and picked them up...when I was picking them up, one of the Nursery ladies mentioned their outfits and thought it was cute what we did...and I said "what?"....I, of course, knew what I put on Colt, but never looked to see what Canon had clue! I love it!! did give me the idea to do this:

Our good friend Tony gave Canon and Colt each a "Troy" football with their name and DOB on it and 2 Adidas outfits. So yes, they have matching outfits and they look so cute in them!

First Tooth!

Colt has cut his very first tooth at 5 months! I didn't want to mention how bad he has been at night b/c he was such a good boy all day on Sunday with all the festivities, I didn't want to ruin a good I ignored that part of the night. I've actually been at home sick with some kind of virus and have been quarantined from everyone for 2 days. Deborah had to go pick up the boys from MMO yesterday and the nursery workers told her that Colt was cutting a tooth! When D told me about this huge milestone...I felt an overwhelming abundance of guilt that I didn't discover it first and that I've been letting Colt "cry it out" at night, when obviously he was in pain:( I did consider that it could be a tooth, but I've read that it is rare to cut a tooth before the age of 6 months. What a bad mother!! Well, I am still super excited about the tooth and I got to finally see it has broken through. See's really hard to see but you can see a little speckle of white (if you click on the picture you can get an up close look).

Colt's Christening and 5 Months

What an exciting and memorable weekend! Colt turned 5 months and was also Christened at Covenant United Methodist Church on Sunday, October 11, 2009. His family and friends were all there to witness this very special occasion. He, of course, had his Dad and Mom there along with family: KK, Papa John, Nana, Pops, Aunt Elyse, Uncle Brian and cousin Troy (4 weeks), Mamama and Crawford. Friends that attended were: Tony Ferrante, Ed and Leslie Cox, Brandon Arkle (wife Leah was sick), Barry, Deborah and Canon Moss, Jordan, Alicia and Ava Yates, Will, Tuan, Alex and Julia Blank and Kyle, Mandy and Luke Chavers.

Colt wore the Christening gown made by my mother (KK) and was absolutely beautiful on him. I have to say, our little boy can be very pretty!!
See pictures taken at the church before the service:

The actual ceremony was short and sweet and given by our most favorite pastor Hays McKay along with associate pastors Kyle Gatlin and Mike Hoppe. After Hays described the many ways of Christening and the purpose of the process, Josh and I were called to the front to stand before God and many witnesses to hand our little baby boy over to God promising that we will direct him, raise him, teach him and pray for him to know, trust and follow the Lord. As the water was sprinkled on his sweet little head, he was baptized in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. Hays then raised him to the congregation and declared that he was "a child of God." That part always get me:) Seeing a sweet innocent little baby being raised for everyone to see…a beautiful little miracle.

For the remaining service, Colt was a little angel…for half of the service, he sat snuggled up in his Dad's lap just looking around, was then handed over to me for a mid-service bottle then watched the remaining service. He did get a burst of energy when I went to burp him…he's seems to like to jump up and down in my lap, but we didn't hear a peep from him…he's definitely starting this Christianity thing on the right foot:)

Hays is doing a series on Balancing Your Life and today's service was on balancing your finances…money. Who doesn't need to hear about that. The most significant thing that stood out to me is that you can't serve the both God and money…that God doesn't want your money, stuff, belongings, all he wants his your heart.

Here is a picture after the ceremony with the family (Brian and Troy were out taking a stroll):

We provided a lunch for everyone after the service at our house. We had bruchetta for an appetizer, Lasagna, Chicken Alfredo (made by Stoffers) and salad for the main course and pecan pie, coconut pie (made by Nana), cheesecake, and peanut butter pie for desert. Everything was very good and so easy! Luckily I had A LOT of help from my mother, so everything looked so cute and festive (to us anyway). We had many many babies there, but Colt had to have his friends there right? All the babies: Colt, Canon, Ava, Julia and Troy…Luke couldn't come because his Daddy didn't feel too hot. Oh, things have changed! Aunt Rebecca also showed up which was a very nice surprise!

I had been checking out and the local news all week to see how the weather was going to be Sunday and everyday it read a 40% chance of rain and the block for Sun always had a big rain cloud on it with no sun. I was a little disappointed b/c I wanted to set up a table outside since we do have a nice looking back yard and a covered porch. Well…maybe and the new stations' meteorologists were all on vacation last week, b/c I'm not sure if there was a cloud in the sky…there probably was, but it was a beautiful sunny day…perfect. So, we ended up setting a table outside and it was a perfect place for all the boys (excuse me…men).

Here are some pictures of our friends and family that attended:

After all of our friends went home for the afternoon, KK, Papa John, Elyse, Brian, Troy, Rebecca and I spent some time together taking pictures, catching up and of course playing with the babies:).
Here are some pictures taken by my sister Elyse (she's really good!):

With all the excitement, we can't forget that Colt turned 5 months also. And somehow I found time to see how much he weighed, he weighed 19 lbs even and was 26.5 inches long. I weighed and measured him myself, so who knows how accurate it is. Here is a little update on what he's doing now:
Eating: 6-7 oz every 3 hours and the solid food thing is still a work in process. He has had cereal (of course) and sweet potatoes, green beans, peas, bananas and applesauce. Our goal for the 6th month is to work on a schedule! It's a little difficult:(
Cloths: 6 months, 6-9 months and some 9-12 months depending on the brand. The 3-6 months is a little snug these days…you would think!

Diapers: Size 3

Development: He's getting very good at grabbing objects, following sounds, movement, rolling over from his back to front. He's starting to sit up and will for several seconds and likes to stand and bounce, laughs a lot and talks.
Play: He has discovered he loves to stick his tongue out, we see that little tongue a lot these days, loves his jumperoo, playing on the floor, watching Daisy and Gizzy, being talked to, attention, looking in the mirror, watching Noggin (now Nick-Jr.), being held, and me (j/k…ok,I'm not) and his Daddy.
Here are some of our favorite photos of Colt we took this weekend:

When it was all said and done...we were pretty darn tired and worn out!
